To the Beach

We are now fully in the swing of moving the boat south.  Leaving Mile Hammock, we are driving the boat down a narrow dredged channel between dunes and marshes with occasional small towns.  We look for the red and green markers in the distance and watch for the shoaling areas right around us.  A parade of boats queues up, waiting for bridges to open.  We wave to people on the shore.  We get into Wrightsville Bridge early enough to dinghy ashore and walk the beach in the wind.  The ocean has a lot of white caps.
